DIY budget trek to Mt Ophir =========================== Date : 25-Nov-05 (Fri nite) to 27-Oct-2005 (Sun nite) Location : Malaysia - Segamat - Mt Ophir Budget : Approx $70 (might be lower or higher) Max participants : 12 (incl me & Zul) Rough itinerary : 25-Nov-05 (Fri nite) - Take night train from SIN to Segamat. 26-Nov-05 (Sat AM) - Reach Segamat. - Rest & wait at bus terminal for daybreak. - Early b/fast. - Purchase return train tickets. - Take public transport from Segamat to foot of Mt Ophir. 26-Nov-05 (Sat PM) - Pitch camp at one of the camp sites near to Summit. - Dinner & rest. 27-Nov-05 (Sun AM) - Quick B/fast. - Ascend to Summit. - Enjoy scenery, etc. - Descend to camp site. - Light meal. - Packup & break camp. - Descend to foot of Mt Ophir. 27-Nov-05 (Sun PM) - Wash-up at ft of Mt Ophir. - Late lunch. - Take public transport to Segamat. - Take late afternoon train to SIN. 27-Oct-05 (Sun nite) - Reach SIN & Disperse. NOTE: ----- 1) The above schedule & budget is not final. Depending on the response, we will adjust the itinerary & budget accordingly. 2) This trip is NOT a simple trek in Macritchie. You really need to be fit and able to carry uphill & downhill at least 30kg of weight in your backpack. You must also be prepared to sleep (or rather not sleep) in a wet tent, in case it rains at nite. 3) We need team players & not individualistic Indian chiefs. 4) This is not a package tour so everything will be a DIY and do- everything-together event. 5) For those really interested, please drop me an email & I'll get back to you again.
